Every billable hour - inside or outside of sessions - is charged at the same flat rate of $300/hour.

Advance Fee Deposit

An advance fee deposit of $3,000 is required before mediation begins.

Here's exactly what that covers and how it works:

The $3,000 deposit funds up to 10 billable hours of work on your case
It typically covers 4 two-hour live sessions plus approximately 2 hours of document review, case preparation, and MOU drafting
Time is drawn down from the deposit as work is completed - you'll always know where your balance stands
Unused funds are fully refundable or applied toward your final invoice
If your matter requires additional time beyond 10 hours, you will be notified in advance before any further costs are incurred - you'll never be surprised by an unexpected charge

💡 Why a deposit? The advance deposit ensures we can dedicate focused, uninterrupted time to your case from the moment we begin. It also means you're not managing an invoice after every session - the work simply draws from your account as it's completed, and you're kept informed throughout.

What Is Billable - And When

We want you to understand exactly what you're paying for at every stage. Here's a clear breakdown:

✅ Live Mediation Sessions

Scheduled in 2-hour increments at $600 per session. This is structured, facilitated time where both parties work through the issues on the agenda together.

✅ Document Review

When you submit financial statements, custody agreements, prior legal documents, or other materials, that paperwork is carefully reviewed before we meet. Review time is billed at $300/hour.

✅ Case Preparation

Before each session, we organize your materials, research relevant considerations, and prepare a focused agenda. Preparation time is billed at $300/hour.

✅ Post-Session Follow-Up

After each session, we capture agreed outcomes, draft summaries, and prepare for the next stage. Follow-up time is billed at $300/hour.

✅ MOU Drafting & Finalization

The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is the written record of everything you and the other party have agreed to. It's a detailed, carefully prepared document - and the foundation for any final legal paperwork your attorneys will file. Drafting and finalization time is billed at $300/hour.

💡 What is an MOU? A Memorandum of Understanding is not a legal contract in itself - it's a comprehensive written summary of the agreements reached through mediation. Your independent attorneys use it to prepare and file any final legal documents. Getting it right matters enormously, which is why it's treated with the same care as every other part of the process.

What to Expect: The Process

Most family and divorce matters are fully resolved in 1 to 4 sessions. Here's how a typical case unfolds:

Document review & prep - We review submitted materials and prepare for Session 1
Live sessions - We work through each topic area systematically, one session at a time
MOU drafting - We prepare your written summary of agreements
Attorney review - You share the MOU with your independent attorneys for final legal preparation
Final accounting - Unused deposit funds are refunded; any additional time is invoiced with advance notice
